(note I'm putting everything in Flash book because it's at the top of the list. I know I can move books around but I don't know what I want at the top so I haven't done it yet. you know me.)

The photo of the well-lit crocus was taken this afternoon. I was raking the bank behind the clothesline and discovered it.

Besides raking, today was a good day for:

  • watching the eagle babies being fed parent-minced squirrel
  • hanging out a few loads of clothes
  • sitting leaning against the deck post writing a bit in Prosebox.

I hear cows in chorus calling for babies that only occasionally answer. I hear a woodpecker banging away in a dead tree. I hear traffic on the next gravel road down the valley.

I called the hospital in the neighboring town that does the Wellness blood testing and was told I could stop any weekday morning and leave a sample. I think I'll do it on the second on my way home from the big tooth appointment. They test your blood for almost everything and charge almost nothing for the service. I had it done two years ago and I can compare the results now. I'll take both results when I get around to having my Welcome to Medicare physical sometime later this year. There. That sounds like a plan..

I'd really l like to get my walking capability back. I'd like to do my 5.5 mile loop at least one day every weekend. I can't take Gracie but I suppose she would understand it was for both of our own goods. Meanwhile she and I can go for shorter dog walks that would include either of the big hills. I plan one of those when i get done writing here.

Happy holiday friends. Or do I mean hoppy?

Love what you heard outdoors and that you wrote in Prosebox outdoors. I think about doing that, too. / NBC News is showing a red fox in the White House lawn. He's eluding capture. Go fox! / Imagine your Friday off was especially wonderful preceded by four days of work. / I hope that isn't a fasting blood test! / Weren't you elated when you uncovered that crocus?!

That crocus made my day. I need to plant some bulbs,I think. They make me feel immortal in that they show every spring. I miss the Lilly of the valley patch at my parents old home. There. I just bummed myself out. crap. Have a wonderful Easter. :-)

I am seeing fewer squirrels this year. Wonder if they are raptor food? More likely it is the crows. We have more of those around here lately. Someday I have to come visit your world. You have the most extraordinary light and you use it well. :) We all have a vested interest in those longer walks because you take your camera.

I love that you admire my light. No one else does.

I always mentally want to high five the crocus for the effort of emerging so early

They last forever as bulbs too. No care. Just a tiny tiny bit of benign neglect and they keep coming back year after year.
