WARNING: Read first entry before commenting <---- this is something I will post on every entry, just to make sure you're not confused.

So I bought myself a PS Vita. There are a lot of people on the internet who whinge and complain about every little thing when it comes to gaming, so let me just clear something up: for those who are unaware, the PS Vita is fucking awesome. It's got (almost) the power of a PS3. This is quite an achievement, but that seems to float over the fanboys' heads, because all they do is whinge and complain.

"THERE ARE NO GAEMS!!11!" - bullshit. I'm looking at my Vita right now and I have about thirty in my download list. That's a small percentage of titles on the machine.

Okay, some of them are ports. Big fucking deal. Borderlands 2 is coming to the Vita. Borderlands-fucking-2. Don't know what Borderlands 2 is?

Minecraft is also heading our way, and I fucking love BOTH of those games. Those two games alone, as far as I'm concerned, are worth the price of admission.

Let's look at the machine itself - I have the OLED version, and that screen is fucking incredible. I've had it for a month now and I don't have a single scratch on the screen - even though I don't use a screen protector. That's right. I mean, I tried putting one on, but it was fucking useless and fell off. A month later, no scratches whatsoever. This screen is incredible.

The thumbsticks are just as responsive as when I bought the thing, and trust me - it's had a lot of use. In fact, this entry is taking a while to write because I'm in the middle of Terraria as we speak (which gets an update today OH JOYOUS JOY). The controls are slick, the screen is slick. This is also the most powerful hand-held on the market; we're talking about an ARM Cortex - A9 quad core processor clocked at a maximum of 2ghz. For the layman, let's put it like this - for a hand-held gaming device, that's pretty fucking nifty. The GPU is a SGX543MP4+. Confused? Put it like this - the Vita version of Virtua Tennis 4/Power Smash 4 looks better than the PS3/Xbox 360 versions.

Throw in a rear touchpad, two cameras, motion-sensing controls, and you've got yourself a blinding bit of kit. I can also shove a SIM card in the machine for when Wi-Fi isn't available.

Inevitably, there are downsides. It's expensive. The memory cards are proprietary, and Sony are charging extortionate prices for them. Sometimes the PS Store just doesn't bloody work (although that could be my internet connection, heh). Most unjust of all, though, is that Sony seems to have abandoned the console outright. I mean, they clearly haven't, but it does look that way - there are an unnerving lack of Vita exclusives, and you had better be a fan of JRPGs, because that's all that seems to be being released. Where the fuck are the FPSs? Why isn't there a solid western-style RPG in the vein of the Fallout or Witcher series'?

Still, if you don't mind ports (and I don't give a shit about that) Borderlands 2 and Minecraft will be keeping me busy for some time to come. The built-in microphone means you can talk to your friends and teammates as you play. Overall, I am extremely happy with my Vita; I have Skype and Facebook apps on the machine, I use it as my MP3 player, and I get some serious gaming done - I defy you to play Killzone Mercenary or Uncharted: Golden Abyss and NOT feel like you're playing on a PS3. And, if you have a PS4, the device fits your gaming style like a fucking glove.

TL;DR? Best fucking hand-held I ever owned. A few minor niggles aside, it's worth every penny.

*EDIT* It's not worth writing a whole new entry out for, but this is the song I was listening to when I wrote this entry:
