ephinany #2 in the next thing

the way to heal our democracy and what grieves the good citizen in so many people’s being is through the local government level. making it simple and transparent and responsive and useful. approach disaffected citizens like transition-aged youth - which is what they are. there is no value judgment here - just best practice for all humans.

this ephinany while reading an article in a local monthly devoted to environmental and political issues in the county. the article advocated for retaining a local transportation benefit district tax of 2 cents per each $10 of sales tax and did an excellent job of connecting people to the idea that taxation can offer direct benefits in their daily quality of life. something that is starkly lacking at the federal level at the present moment.

while recognizing that in a reality where we are what we do, we also need to tell a compelling story.
