A visit to the Isle of Man last weekend turned out enjoyable despite the weather. I had a nightmare journey out with train delays leading to a missed ferry connection and a unplanned diversion to Liverpool. However, I had a pleasant and chilled afternoon in the city which was an unexpected surprise. On the Isle of Man I spent two days traveling around a pleasant and friendly island. I also took in two football games, one involving the local league at Peel and a second at the national stadium involving Ellan Vannin V Monaco. I have plenty of pictures that I will post soon.

I have been on annual leave from work this week. This has given me the opportunity to visit family in Redditch and see a couple of my nieces and nephews. It is surprising how quickly they are growing up. It was nice to hear my nephew say my name for the first time. I have also been carrying on with my bedroom refurbishment by painting the walls to create a decent color scheme. The next stage is to create a wardrobe.

I drank too many beers on Friday. This has left me feeling down. I have a problem with alcohol and limiting the quantities that I drink when drinking. I would love to quit the beer altogether but that seems very difficult. My drinking habits have improved massively over the past couple of years but I find it very difficult to drink in moderation once started.

I need to restart my fitness training and healthy eating. My diet has been very poor since visiting the Isle of Man and training non existent. I weighed myself yesterday and came in at 17 stone. My ultimate goal is to loose 2 stone (15 stone).

Last night I was working with my Dad performing a disco for a 40th birthday. It was a lovely family event and the audience appreciated the music selection that I provided. I have mentioned to Dad that I am considering giving the disco up. He seems to think after Christmas will be a good idea as he can retire due to his age approaching 70. I am considering the option of re-starting once Dad retires as this option provides the opportunity to retire with dignity.

I actually joined the library on Friday. My intention is to loan professional driving books to develop my knowledge before I start my theory element of the training and test procedure. I have two books to work through during the next couple of weeks. I have my medical examination on Tuesday. I am praying I pass the test so I can proceed in applying for my provision license.

I am back at work tomorrow. The school is on holiday so there should not be much in the way of teachers or kids on site. Hopefully, I can keep a low profile and get on with the work. Tomorrow also marks the start of my exercise schedule. I need to squeeze a jog in. I am thinking of a run around Cheddar reservoir after work.
