Rotations, Bras, and the Zoo! in Ponderings of the Universe

I've been working with two people in student services department trying to figure out what to do in the fall and I am so amazed by how helpful and caring they've been. They've been brainstorming and are willing to contact various professors and vets in the hospital to help me meet my credit requirements. I'm definitely going to have to send them some thank you chocolates or something for how wonderful they're being.

They found a 2 credit online course on preventative medicine, which I think would be a good option and not to awful. Then, we're thinking that, if the coordinatiors OK it, I might be able to do two rotations, which would each be an addition 2 credits, getting me up my 6 credit minimum. They offered me a list of rotations they thought would be OKed and I'm thinking I might ask the coordinators Acupuncture and Raptor Center. I was planning on doing them both, anyway, during my rotation year and both sound fun, light, and relatively laid-back. Plus, if I don't retain a lot from those ones, I feel like it won't be as big of a deal if I did ones like Dermatology or Cardiology, which were also suggested. This is also kind of cool because during my actual rotation year, it gives me the opportunity to take additional elective rotations or even more externships while still allowing me to get all the rotation experiences I wanted to cram into that year. I really hope this works out because it sounds like a fun, relatively atraumatic way to spend my fall semester

It was so warm today! I think it got into the 70s. I've been wearing button downs lately because they're comfy and loose-fitting, and thus do not require a bra. It was too warm for long sleeves so I wore a t-shirt, which was fitted, so I thought I should give one of the new bras a try. After nearly a month and a half of not wearing one, it felt so weird!

Ooh! I'm so excited! On Friday, I was planning to go to the MN Zoo with Aaron, Sarah, and Renee. However, since I am neutropenic, I wanted to make sure it was an OK place for me to go since zoos are filled with animals, children, and their poop. My oncologist said that zoos weren't any grosser than anywhere else and I could go as long as I didn't touch any animals and washed my hands a lot, which I do or use hand sanitizer any time I go out anyway. Yay! I'm thinking I might get a membership there because it pays for itself after like 2 visits. I love the zoo and it's a good summer activity for me as long as I don't go on the weekends to best avoid crowds and disease-ridden children. Plus, the Monkees are doing another concert there this summer. It's an amazing venue and zoo members get access pre-sale tickets, so I think I'll try to do that as well. I can't get enough Mike Nesmith!

I'll leave you with this:

They're so cute! I never tried to teach my rats tricks but I definitely want to try to teach my future rats how to do some stuff like that. They're so smart :)
