2020: "Hold my beer..." in ...from the ashes.

As with almost everyone, 2020 has sucked. The main thing thankfully is work kept paying me, annnd the entire company for the time we were off, we got back to work June 22nd.

Sadly, we had to put our beloved furball down. His name was Felan. 14 years old, and about the only thing close to a kid we’d ever have. He’d been fighting respiratory issues for a few years now, and we’d been trying medication, but it was too much for him. He’d lost weight/muscle mass, and then injured a leg hoping down from a window so wasn’t moving as much. It hurt, fuck it still hurts. I have the image of his limp head sliding out my hand when I had to let go. The house isn’t the same with him. No greetings when we get home, help with the groceries, the hugs in bed at night, him putting the wife back to sleep every, damn, morning. The company when doing dishes. The purrs.
The reluctant “Dad’s having a moment and needs to hug me.”

Aimee has put in paperwork for adoption from a place out of town, but a legit place that rescues kittens/pregnant cats, and rehomes them after a certain time frame with spay/neutering. So fingers crossed on that.

Apart from that, kicked off the Airsoft season with 2 games so far, another possibly on the 19th, and a 2 day event on August 21/22. Enjoying it, keeps the mind at bay for a bit at least.

Just glad to be back at work.
