Kayla and Timmy graduated from high school last week. My babies are high school graduates! Their school is a relatively small Catholic school, and they were able to have an outdoor, socially-distanced ceremony. They divided the class in half and had two ceremonies. Each student was allowed to have four guests. Everyone was in their own circle. My stepdad, stepsister, and her kids filled our two circles. Everyone wore masks. The students were able to walk across the stage and get their diplomas. They also had pictures taken.

The students marched in, then the principal gave a speech. After that the students received their diplomas. While I was very emotional when they had their virtual prom, at graduation I felt like they were ready to move on. Sort of like they were ready to close out this stage in their lives and move on to the next.

That evening there was a virtual graduation with speeches. Kayla and Timmy were part of the graduation song. The students each did their part at home and the choral director put them together. As part of the virtual graduation, there were photos of all the seniors and a list of their names. At the end of the virtual graduation, they all flipped their tassels.
