Weird thing about my name is that it's Cindy, not Cynthia. People often assume that it's a nickname, but it isn't. My older sister is named Megan and never ever goes by "Meg." In fact, she will correct anyone who calls her that.
Over the past few years Megan has labeled me as clingy and needy and has pushed me away when I have needed her. It makes me sad because we were very close when we were younger. Now Rachel and I are pretty close and Megan seems less interested in our family life.
She also lives in Florida, although the other side of the state from our moms. She escaped the same way that Rachel seems to want to eventually. I think I'm the only one who really likes it here.
Megan is a fitness freak and runs and bikes and swims all the time. I'm intimidated by her body, though I would never put the kind of work into myself that she has. I'm also pregnant for the third time, so that doesn't help.
Although she is very feminine, she is a lesbian and married to a woman named Lauren. Lauren is more masculine and is very overweight. It seems like a strange couple but they love each other. I'll write a separate entry about Lauren eventually, but she is a great person and I'm happy to have her in the family.
The other big thing about Megan is she works in adult film. She isn't actually appearing in porn anymore, but she still works in the industry. It was kind of a dramatic shock in the family when she was 19 and admitted that she had been having sex on camera for money. My moms were furious but have come around and actually seem OK with it now.
And yes, I've seen a little bit of her work and it's awkward.
