What’s new pussycat? in Hot town, summery in the city - 2017

So, I’ve been pretty much at home since March, a week earlier than most folk just because I had a week off the week before lockdown. And what new, exciting hobbies have I taken up? How many degree courses have I completed?

Well, obviously, none.

But I have been consolidating three hobbies I already have.

Running. Well y’all know about that: bought a third (fourth, fifth even) hand treadmill and found virtual running videos on YouTube. Today I was running in Red Dead Redemption 2 world again (Although a different video) and, as a non gamer I can see how one could really get into it!!

(This is it:

if you’re interested)

I’ve also been solidifying my Spanish. I’ve been able to speak and read for years but I still struggle to listen to large quantities of dialogue so I’ve been watching Spanish programmes on Netflix. I use the English subtitles as an aide but am needing them less; I’m thinking of moving on to Spanish subtitles…

And I’ve been practicing nail art as well as taking a course in covid-19 health and safety. I have bought 200 fake nails to practice on and, again, am using YouTube obsessively, getting ideas!! I’ve ordered a black and a white gel polish (I didn’t previously have these) and something called ‘blooming gel’ which causes the gels to expand a bit like water paints. I’d love to try watercolour designs on nails!! I want the gel nail design to then become my main business in the long term. I really am done with little kids in my house!

I have also done long planned work on the garden and deep cleaned the kitchen (a day later it was awful again..)

Other things I’ve done during lockdown: the entire serieses of Big Bang Theory, almost the entire of Brooklyn 99, the entire of Out Numbered and many more.
I’ve eaten more than I need and spent some days in bed, I’ve let L off school work when I couldn’t be arsed (as well as nagging on her to do school work on other days).
I felt at the bottom of despair and I’ve tried to pull my big girl pants up, sometimes with more success than others. And I’ve felt quite chilled and okay.

This is my reality. Facebook makes it look as though I’m winning every day but prosebox is where I let the muffin tops out and tell it like it is.

Haha, I love your last line. Great work on your running and Spanish and nails! I'd love to see you be able to do the nails as your main source of income!!

What are your thoughts on season 6 of Brooklyn 99? We got to season 6 and lost interest. We just didn't think it was funny!

ermentrude northern lights ⋅ May 23, 2020

I’m only on episode 4 of season 6, I hadn’t noticed it not being funny! I’ll pay more attention tomorrow 😂😂

It was actually episode 4 that made us stop watching 😯 maybe it was just us then and it is actually funny that season. We did love the first 5!

I guess episode 4 was all about Gina being Gina and, as it was her last episode, it had to be a farewell to her.

So if you were to do nails, would you do them from your home? Is that allowed with everything going on?

I would visit other people’s homes x
