One car, two drivers in The Heart Chakra II

Brian got his driver's license back today, and I put him on the car insurance. Just like that, a process that took less than 15 minutes with an appointment - the DMV ain't what it used to be. Just like that, Augustine has two drivers.

We will need to figure out how we will share the car; but first, Brian needs to practice driving it. I'm a good teacher and a superior driver, so tutoring him won't be hard. We can bring Lila and her learner's permit into the picture. Augustine is not too unlike the old Blue Car, so she will learn to drive it easily.

Our question now: do we need to become a two-car family if we have three drivers? I don't know, but I always wanted a smart. Job is driving Cookie's car to work on and off, but he needs to stop being bus-dependent because of his arthritis. Could we work four drivers into two cars? Lila takes Augustine every other weekend and for school, Job takes the smart alternate weekends for shopping, as we'd need Augustine? Lila has hinted, though, that once she has her license, she would want her own car, and that's OK. And there was a time when Pa talked me out of a small pickup truck because of the insurance rates; that might not be an issue if Job contributes towards the insurance.

Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. At the moment, we can afford only Augustine, and that's with a monthly deficit. Brian's disability hearing is, at long last, almost here; his projected monthly amount would be just enough to cover that deficit. And our homeowners' insurance just went up, meaning our mortgage payment has risen. So no second car for us now, not for a long time, probably not until Augustine's paid off.
