One more sad day.. in Evening thoughts

I have to deal with a group of people from whom I’m interested in one man. Most of the others are unpleasant, and one woman hates me (this hate is mutual tho tbh), out of jealousy. Every day when I see her is soul agony for me, and I regret that burning witches at the stake isn’t practised any more.. I dunno how to get rid of her without losing the man, because he considers her to be his friend (and I’m not ready to lose him).
