Cool or Creepy, you decide in Day to Day

So, Fred Phelps is dead then. What a perfectly vile man he was. Let's hope his equally vile family members now do the right thing and disband his disgusting church. Not very likely since there has been at least one picket by the church since Phelps death at a concert by 17-year-old musician Lorde. I have no idea who she is. Interestingly, there was apparently a counter-picket; and while Westboro Baptist Church waved their usual "God Hates Fags" and, "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" placards, the counter protesters unfurled a large "Sorry for your Loss" banner. Nicely done!

It was the boy's birthday last week. I have been constructing marble run toys most evenings since. We also visited Legoland this weekend. There was a short hailstorm at lunchtime, which wasn't great, but we had a good day. I was even persuaded to ride on the roller coaster. I don't like roller coasters. I also went on the raft race thing, which was fun, but wet. Other rides included two different trains, the space tower, water chute thing (also wet), sky rider, and 4D cinema.

The car needs a service and its MOT certificate runs out on 4th May. I've booked it in. One of the rear doors won't unlock, which is annoying and apparently it won't pass the test if we don't get it fixed, so it's going to have that done at the same time.

Here's a great story from the independent. Apparently police in Hawaii are fighting for the right to have sex with prostitutes during investigations. Lawmakers are currently re-writing legislation which would remove the police exemption from the law. The police Honolulu department is claiming that scrapping the exemption would hinder their work, and that it is crucial to catch offenders in the act. Right, so the police don't want to have sex with prostitutes, but they have to to catch offenders, and tax payers should fund it. God, what a dirty job. They must hate that.
