Open Diary has ended. It was an amazing blog site. My home page on OD truthfully stated “I came here because of my daughter, but I have stayed long after she has gone.” (or something like that…I don’t remember and now the site is gone!)
I now realize that the writing I did on this “private” online diary from 6/7/2000 through just last year (2013) was the best preparation for my current job as an editor and writer on a construction industry blog site.
I will miss my online friends which I now have no way to contact: ODforDummies from Atlanta who moved to NJ to be with her guy (and those dogs!), “Domino” or whatever her latest OD moniker was while she navigated empty nest and ageing parents, Mystenne as she advanced her HR career and more while keeping the home fires burning for her helicopter pilot, and “Sparks” a girl from New Zealand with whom I talked throughout her adolescence.
