Today everyone sees and wears green. According to folklore if you wear green leprechauns can’t see you and therefore can’t pinch you. I saw a few posts on FB that with social distancing, even if you don’t wear green, they can’t pinch you.
St Patrick was born in Britain and kidnapped when a teenager by Irish raiders then sold as a slave to a Celtic priest. He escaped back to Britain and became a Christian missionary returning to Ireland. One legend attributes St Patrick from banishing snakes from Ireland. In reality there never were snakes in the area because of the climate.
It’s really sad. The bars that sell green beer are closed. The ice cream shoppes that sell green milkshakes are closed. Since I’ve never acquired a taste for beer, bars never appealed to me. As far as milkshakes, I would rather have ice cream and make it chocolate! Phil made corned beef and cabbage (he put his vegan diet on hold). So we can also have a couple days of leftovers. I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies yesterday. Today they are gone. When I asked him about them he responded, “stress eating”.
The parking lots of Costco, Wal Mart, Home Depot, and grocery stores are packed. Toilet paper continues to be in short supply. But as I understand this is a global problem.
I’m trying not to listen to the news because the news media is in the business of peddling fear. The feel good stories don’t sell advertising.
This prayer is a portion of one of the
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through the mighty strength
Of the Lord of creation.

It is true about much of the news media trading in fear for profit. It is so sad. There are a heck of a lot of good people out there doing amazing things and they are the folks I want to hear about.
