Book Description

Hello everyone, I’m currently in Ha Long!
The weather this season is calm and peaceful in the nicest way. It’s slightly chilly, and when I open the balcony in the morning, the sea is a deep blue with a thin layer of mist drifting right in front of me. Walking around Bai Chay in the afternoon feels refreshing—cool breeze, not too crowded, just relaxing.
The food here hits differently in this cooler weather: hand-pounded squid cake, steaming bowls of mantis shrimp noodles, a few grilled oysters with scallion oil… everything tastes warm and incredibly satisfying. And if you end the day with a hot seafood hotpot? Perfect.
I’m staying at A La Carte, and what I love most is the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that open straight to the ocean view. The bathroom has a large soaking tub with strong hot water—just a few minutes inside and all the tiredness melts away. It feels like a little escape where all you do is eat, sleep, and stare at the sea.
If anyone is looking for a gentle, slow-paced getaway, Ha Long this season is honestly perfect.
