The protagonist of Deltarune is Kris, a reserved and somewhat reclusive human teenager who is abruptly drawn into an epic adventure. The game creates a couple that feels genuine and unfiltered, paired with Susie, a sulky, tough-as-nails classmate. Susie is loud, erratic, and initially uninterested in anything that resembles teamwork, whereas Kris is quiet and introspective. Their personalities couldn’t be more different.

But as the narrative progresses, their connection changes. Trial, discovery, and a common goal gradually transform what starts out as a reluctant partnership into a connection. Ralsei, a gentle and compassionate prince from the enigmatic “Dark World,” joins them along the journey and acts as the group’s emotional support system and advisor.
