Book Description

so… I’m one of those OpenDiary writers that have decided to come to prosebox now that OD is shutting down. I was on OD 14 years. It was a great run… a life-changing run… but it’s over now. I suppose that’s apropos considering the massive amounts of change I’ve gone through since that beginning 14 years ago.

I really enjoy the idea of prosebox and am glad that i’ve been lead here. I have always wanted to be a writer and I hope this helps.

As for writing, everyone has their influences. Mine are VERY non-traditional.
Larry Hama- I was exposed to his work throughout the 80’s in his writing of GI Joe comic book for Marvel comics. Despite being a licensed product, despite being a toy tie-in or “kiddie” book ,he never, EVER treated it as such. He treated it with respect. He created all the character biographies for Hasbro (the toy company), he relied heavily on his own military background and he ignored the outright silly stuff the toyline had.

Mick Foley– wrestler… New York Times #1 bestselling author. Not only did he write his own book, without a ghost-writer (great story there) but he did so without a laptop or PC of any kind… instead, he did it on legal paper and pen. Volumes and volumes. it’s really amazing. And his writing is so engaging. Any lover of books is doing themselves a disservice not reading his books.

gotta run… more later!
