You may have seen the Hollywood-style TV lot if you’ve been driving to the airport recently. The show is being produced and filmed here, and it’s poised to showcase to the world Miami’s elegant and sultry side, which is definitely different from the stereotype of gangsters that we’ve been accustomed to for years.

You won’t have the chance to see Magic City on your own TV screen for several weeks, but you will be able to catch a special screening of its first episode during the Miami International Film Festival on Sunday. It’s not just made in the great city of Miami, but creator, writer, and director Mitch Glazer is a proud Miami native. The actor isn’t only from Miami He attended Miami Beach High together with fellow 305er Mickey Rourke. In fact, his father still lives in Coconut Grove. While he may have relocated to Los Angeles or New York following the high school years, he resides in South Florida with a West Avenue condo.

Shorter Employment Lines
Made in Miami + based Miami creates jobs to residents of Miami. It was hard not to be aware of everyone who had an area code of 786/305 on the set last season, from Magic City’s caterer , to some of the actors. Some 954 homies were even seen. We are all for anything that helps in the creation of funds for this amazing city.

Really Hot Guys
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, shirtless. What more do we need to say? There are greats as well like Alex Rocco and Danny Huston. For the 21 and under crowd, there are newbies Steven Strait and Christian Cooke. Their nicknames on the show are “Good Son” and “Bad Son.” Ooh la la.

Super Sexy Ladies
Olga Kurylenko is a former Bond girl. There’s no need to tell you more. But, most women on the show smoke: Jessica Marais and Kelly Lynch; Elena Satine and Dominik Garcia Lorido to mention the few.

Mad Men, Miami Style
We’ve had the opportunity to see the very first episode of little Haiti community magic city and it’s quite amazing. Think Mad Men, but better. Don’t be offended, Don Draper devotees. Starz describes the scene in the following way: “As Ike Evan rings in the new year at his Miramar Playa Hotel hotel, Havana is taken over by the rebels of Castro.” Although it is a chaotic time in Miami, it’s also the most desirable spot to be. The Kennedys and the mob and the CIA all hold courts in this area. In addition, Ike is the mainstay of his hotel.
