Book Description

This essay is a critical evaluation of language and sexism in journalism. The paper focuses on five articles from the National Canadian newspaper, The Globe and Mail, and examines the language closely for the ways sexist references are relied on in description, reporting, and in the contexts of two regular columns featured in the Globe and Mail. The essay finds that sexism is evidenced in the journalist’s language and in their reporting.
