GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING AND EXECUTIN ESSE

Essay writing is a type of extracurricular independent work of students on writing an essay of small volume and free composition on a private topic, interpreted subjectively and usually incompletely . The topic of the essay should be topical, touching upon contemporary problems of the discipline’s field of study. The edusson student must reveal not only the essence of the problem, give different points of view, but and express their own views on it.

This type of work requires the student to be able to express thoughts clearly, both in written form and through logical reasoning, and to express his or her own point of view clearly.

The essay usually has an assignment devoted to solving one of the problems, related to the area of academic or scientific interests of the discipline, a general problem field, on the basis of which the student formulates the topic himself. In disclosing the topic, he or she must show the originality of the approach to solving the problem, realism, usefulness and significance of the proposed ideas, vividness, imagery, artistic originality presentation.

The time required to prepare the material depends on the difficulty of collecting information, the complexity of the material on the topic, the individual characteristics of the student and determined the teacher. Approximate time for preparation - 4 hours.
The essay may be presented at a practical lesson, at a competition of student works, scientific conferences.

Requirements for performance:

  • read the assignment carefully and formulate a topic not only relevant in its of importance, but also original and interesting content;
  • Select and study sources on the topic and the information they contain;
  • choose the main and the secondary;
  • draw up an outline of the essay;
  • succinctly, but concisely disclose the content of the problem and your approach to solving it;
  • format the essay and submit it by the due date.

Evaluation criteria:

  • novelty, originality of the idea, approach;
  • realistic assessment of the existing state of affairs;
  • usefulness and realism of the proposed idea;
  • the significance of the implementation of the idea, approach, breadth of coverage;
  • artistic expressiveness, brilliance, figurativeness of the statement;
  • literacy of the presentation;
  • the essay is submitted on time.
