Book Description
Oh, the great outdoors! That advantage of being able to spend a day being outside will soon be a thing of the past with winter soon to be at our necks here in Western Pa. We had a chilly start to the morning with temperatures that were 29 degrees and this will be repeated on Tuesday also. At around 11 this morning however, it was just warm enough with the sun shinning, and one could be quite comfortable being outside with a light jacket. I spent the day being outside, and getting some exercise in with raking leaves. I live a bit rural and today I saw a beautiful female deer a doe strolling through the back yard. She was beautiful and she was strolling through the yard about 40 feet away from me to give a rough estimate. I am not too good at Math, so it is a bit hard for me to be able to calculate distance in my mind more accurately! I really did not want to walk near where she was strolling along because I did not want to spook her and cause possible injury to myself or cause her to freak out and do damage to some cars that were parked in a driveway. I guess she was more spooked than I was though because she took off pretty quickly once she heard my footsteps and that is good with hunting season soon coming up in a few more weeks. I am anti hunting, but I will not expound on that here and now. I also got to see a neighbor’s dog chase after it’s ball and bring it back to it’s owner and I also saw a cat walking through someone’s yard. I sure hope the little cat is not a stray and was just somebodies pet enjoying being outside. Yes, I am against letting cats to roam outside too because of the dangers to them. I guess some people feel that their cat should have access to the outside. I am not a supporter of that. I just really hope the cat was not a stray because soon it will be way to cold for it to survive a prolonged period of below freezing nights. It was nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors today and too see an assortment on animals, both wild and domestic. Oh how I wish we could have days like this all through winter, but sadly it will never be here in Western Pa.
