One of my greatest desires on this Earth is to serve an 18 month LDS mission. As a 20 year old, who is still navigating life, such as college, friends, driving, church, work, it is hard to balance all these things. However, I know that through the help of the Lord, I can do all these things! I was reading in Mosiah chapter 12 today, and this chapter really hit me. Abinidi is teaching the priests and King Noah about the commandments. The priests knew what the commandments were, however, they were not living it. They were being hypocrites, inviting people to sin, and having their hearts being turned to the world. Abinidi taught them that they did not truly understand the teachings. If they did understand the teachings of the Lord, they would teach it to others. This chapter really hit me today because in my mission prep class, my sister, (who is the mission prep teacher) made me realize that I needed to study the work of the Lord more! I hope and pray that the Lord will be able to open my mind to better comprehension of the values and principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
