Do The Right Thing in The Stuff That's Not Interesting But Is The Most Interesting Stuff I'll Write

Nothing has changed. I’ve been on a few disastrous dates. I am NOT writing about that horrible sexual experience because I just can’t bring myself to discuss it. It was horrifying....
But I will say this, the worst part was the drive home when the dumbass guy started equating top/bottom with gender roles. Like he wants to bottom because he wants to be taken care of and blah blah blah. This is what I get for breaking my rule.
At work, there’s this manager who was hired to replace someone who was one worker’s comp who actually returned to work two days after they hired this guy. Now, when I tell you this story, you’re going to want to feel sorry for him, and I’ve thought about that, because it’s difficult being universally disliked.... but he’s so fucking rude to everyone that it’s impossible to be on his side after you hear him talk.
He was a manager at a completely different type of store and just does not seem to understand what anyone’s jobs are at this one. He becomes obsessed with mundane tasks and steamrolls over what anyone else is doing. He’s just a nightmare. The other managers all dislike him because he completely inserts himself into their conversations because he wants to be a know-it-all.
This has been going on for a while but yesterday I overheard him talking shit about my co-worker Nick. Let’s get this out of the way, Nick is sexy as fuck. He’s a body-builder and has an amazing body, but he’s also one of the kindest, nicest guys I’ve ever met. He does not have a mean bone in his body. Everyone thinks he’s an idiot, and he’s not the brightest bulb, but he’s actually fairly perceptive and I think that gets lost on everyone.
He’s kind of like David Arquette’s character in Scream, Deputy Dewey.
Now, the asshole manager has apparently been really mean to Nick.... Look, you have to be really big asshole if Nick dislikes you, and all week Nick has been asking me what he should do about it, whether he should call HR or what his other options are. Part of me feels like I should just shut up because I only have to work here for another 6 weeks or so before I can start teaching, but another part of me just is irked at the idea of seeing this asshole besmirch Nick.
Who knows.....

I feel like HR may be different there to here, but here, if harassment of any kind is reported, then it's looked into thoroughly, he can ask for a witness (you'd be a great one in this case) and the truth is pretty much always found out - that manager would be gone. There's actually a hotline victims can call at my work if they need to, so I hope there's something similar there. But yeah, it'd depend if corruption exists and how much of a psycho this manager is. Surely other management have a similar opinion of him.
