What does your online diary name mean? How many times have you changed it?

Oh man. I had a this name FOREVER. I remember trying to think of a name and I couldn’t so I was looking around my work office and there was a picture of the Empire State Building at night and it was captioned “empire of lights” so that’s what I became!

This was my name on OD for years and always here on PB too .:-)

Sal Fakename June 13, 2019

Hah, how topical! I just changed my name to this yesterday. I think since joining the site, I have had... Three names, including this one? Anyway, my old diary name was just the function of my diary: weird notes. Since I decided to change the purpose of this thing, I have also decided to change the name.

"Sal" like the avatar picture is a fishapod and they are... not salamanders at all, but close enough and I like the name. "Fakename" like I wanted my name on the diary to be an obviously fake name. I feel it is easier to call someone by a fake name than something poetic.

"Did you see what Sal wrote the other day?" is much easier than, "Did you see what 'Working On It' said the other day?"

I'm really boring - it's a shortened version of my own name and at some point I added the UK just to define where I was in the OD/Prosebox world. I was, however, proud of my location on OD which was Brigadoon. I felt some folk might have heard of the old Scottish film so would know I was in Scotland but at the time, I was living in an area called Bridge Of Don and Brigadoon would be the way to say that in broad Scots!
Even more impressive was the fact that I'd no idea I'd done it - one of my OD friends who was local pointed it out thinking I had done it deliberately!

Sabrina-Belle June 14, 2019

I've never changed my name. On OD I was Sabrinabelle without the hyphen, I added it just to mark the new start. I wanted a name which represented my identity. I grew up in Shrewsbury where the River Severn runs around the town and I used to ride to school along the river path. Sabrina is the Latin name for the Severn. Belle is from Belle Vue Road where we lived.

When I joined OD in 2001 I was a huge Stone Temple Pilots fan. This name is an homage to two songs on their debut album.
