Hold Your Breath in Head vs. Heart

You reek of discouragement,
Soured confidence seeping from your skin.
The tears weighing heavy in your eyes
Stinging with pain
Hoarding disappointment
And stealing your hope.
Scrub as you might,
The stench doesn’t fade.
A spritz of smiles doesn’t work, either.
How do you kill this dis-ease at the source?
