Broken in Life

Last night a student of mine tried to commit suicide. He’s one of those kids who is his own person, doesn’t come from a great home, and has obviously been through some shit. I had a talk with the entire class today about the impact of words and the power of kindness. I hope they took it seriously. No one should ever be made to feel like they do not matter. My heart breaks for this boy. It was a difficult but necessary talk to have. It’s one of those times when I wish I could wave a wand and fix all of their problems for them, so they would just be happy children and not burdened with such depression and anxiety. I wish I could be the love they need in life. The parents they don’t have. I want them all to succeed and be okay. I hope he will be okay.

I want him to know that he is worth it. They all are. Not matter what.
