What was I saying to myself? in Things That I'm Grateful For

Do you make your bed?
I don’t even sleep in a bed. I don’t have one and haven’t had one since I left Los Angeles. Yet another reason to leave. Also why staying away from home is such a treat.

The first car that was officially yours?
1994 Mazda MX-6. I loved that thing. It could go soooo fast. Not that I cared about that, but it was nice to get places early.

Three grocery items you don’t run out of?
Coffee. Pasta. Potatoes.

When did you start doing your own laundry?
When I was 10. My mother refused to do my laundry and it was difficult for my grandmother since her stroke.

If you could, would you go back to high school?
Ewww. Fuck no.

Can you parallel park in 3 moves?
I can parallel park just fine. But I can’t perpendicular park in a parking spot. I end up crooked and taking up half of another spot. Really, I’m awful at that.

A job you had which people would be shocked to know you did?
I used to work in a candy store and I made fudge when I was in high school.

Do you think aliens are real?
I believe there is life out there, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s intelligent or even worth knowing about. I mean, humans are the most intelligent and developed organisms on this planet and look at how fucked up we are!

Can you drive a stick shift?
I prefer to drive stick.

Guilty TV show you watch?
I don’t really believe in “guilty pleasures”, I just believe in pleasure… but I will say this, I watch Teen Wolf obsessively and I don’t really ever talk about that.

Would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Too cold. When I’m hot, I’m in a terrible mood, usually very sick and probably bitching about something.

If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors?
I’m unsure what this means. If there are survivors then the world hasn’t ended.

Sweet or Salty?
I much prefer salty.

Do you enjoy soaking in a nice bath?
I haven’t taken a bath in over 10 years so I have no idea.

Do you consider yourself strong?
I think strength is such a limited was to measure yourself. I’m not strong in any capacity. But I have endurance, stamina and am capable of tolerating pain for protracted periods of time.

Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy?
I hate people who smile all the time. I immediately distrust people who do that. I almost never smile unless I have a reason.

Something you do, physically, that you are sure drives other people crazy?
I don’t know. I don’t care. Not my problem.

Do you have any birthmarks?
I didn’t think I did, but I think I found one on my chest.

Favorite childhood sport?
Were there supposed to be different sports for the adolescent?

Do you talk to yourself?
Who the fuck else will listen to my crazy nonsense?

Do you like doing jig-saw puzzles?
I used to do them with my grandmother all the time. Now I find them frustrating.

Would you go on a reality show?
As long as it wasn’t one of those awful competition shows. I’d want to go for the experience of learning more about myself and then watching myself afterwards. I think it’d be really useful (and painful) to see myself from an outside perspective.

Tea or coffee?
I don’t have a preference.

First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a pastor. I used to have little services when I was a kid and made my family sit and listen to me preach. And I always took an offering and scolded my mother who refused to tithe.

No matter how much money you have or don’t have, what are you an absolute snob about?
I’m a snob about a lot of things, but I believe that to be because I have standards about certain things. I suppose the one thing that absolutely irks me is when people don’t have manners. I know that might sound silly, but regardless of your background, you should have the ability to remain neutral in public.

I looooove that you passed a collection plate around LOL (or something like it).

I can't believe I'm so far behind on Teen Wolf episodes.

Is there video of any of your little sermons? I love that you demanded offerings!

No, camcorders in the 80s were for the truly rich.

I'm kind of dubiously fortunate that my dad was an early technology adopter even though we couldn't really afford it. There are VHS videos of me at age three and I was born in 1979! I forget sometimes that not everyone had a father who was terrible with money and bought every new gadget. :-)
