Yesterday I woke up at 6 AM and there was no hot water. The whole building was out, second time in a couple of weeks this has happened.
It has to do with the plumbing issues. Serby will only take the “just slap a band-aid on it” approach to the plumbing issues, and therefore the issues will never go away. The guy across the hall from me has been water pouring through his bathroom ceiling and flooding it, just like I did 3 weeks ago.
Serby had my fridge off for over 3 weeks. Then she turned the fridge on but my stove off instead, that’s been out for a week and a half at this point, and she will never turn it back on. And then....
..yesterday my microwave decided to stop working. Are you kidding me with the timing on this????
I give up on eating. I just give up. And I’m inclined just to not bother buying another microwave until after I move because at this point, fuck it all, that’ll just be one more thing to move when I go.
Every day I’m very paranoid that she’s going to shut my fridge back off again.
Today I spent the entire day out apartment hunting, just going around on foot jotting down notes on places with for rent signs. It was perfect weather too, so yayy. I ate my lunch sitting on a bench down by the lake.
When I got home the hot water was back on. Let’s see how long this lasts.
Oh, and a bit of good news. This morning I managed to convince someone at 311 to give me the direct phone number for the city building inspectors!!!!! They don’t work weekends but I will be calling them FIRST THING Monday morning.

I would love to ask Shelby why she is a landlord and if she really hates her job.
Maybe the next thing you can try to do is have her licence taken away?

I hate how people are slumlords I have a house I rent out and I put in all new appliances and redid the kitchen and bathrooms. Sure it cost a lot but it'll all be paid back in rent. My tenants are pretty cool though and quiet.

The whole thing is so outrageous and criminal, it's surreal. The woaman needs to be sued out of business and you and the other tenants deserve an abatement.
