30 Days in My Landlady Serby is the Bane of my Existence

So you may remember that Serby kept my refrigerator (as well as electricity to the bathroom) turned off for 22 days, and then when she finally turned it back on she insisted on shutting off the stove instead, simply because she is hell bent on making sure I am living without at least one major appliance or utility at all times. So the stove has been off for 8 days now, so that means…
… I have now been living like this for 30 days.
One day while the fridge was still out I was talking to Suzanne and said, “I just went grocery shopping and I was shopping like a college kid… all Campbell’s soup and Ramen noodles.”
“You could buy bread and peanut butter.”
“Yeah, that’s the other thing I bought.”
Now that I can use the fridge, I can’t use the stove. Sunday night I attempted to boil bowl after bowl of water in the microwave for some cooking, screwed everything up and after eating my horrible cooking concoction I wound up throwing up for an hour.
A few months ago I went on a mission to eat right and exercise. I was doing really good too. I lost 15 pounds. But then over the last 30 days, between the fridge and then the stove, meal planning is a joke and I’ve gained back 5 pounds. That is SO frustrating for me, you guys. I seriously freaking hate this.
I have my yearly check up with my primary care doctor tomorrow and originally I was hoping I could walk in there all like “Look how great I’m doing with my weight!”
Not happening now.
I hate Serby.
Monday night, still sort of reeling from the fact I had made myself sick from that cooking fiasco the night before, I was just like “Fuck it” and ordered 2 medium pizzas. At least with the fridge running I can store leftovers, so there’s dinner for the whole freaking week. (Salads and fruit during the day though.)
I am so over this.
Oh, and IMGUR is being wonky and won’t let me upload, so I guess there won’t be a picture of the day for a while. And I have bigger problems to deal with right now than figuring out picture posting issues.

Question? Is there a rental board that you can go to and report her?
I call this abuse and very illeagal and I think she will get into a lot of trouble and have to pay a fine and you might even get some money out of this?
Serby sounds something like my landlady except mine won't fix anything and has basically turned off the heat. (there is no heat comming from the vents)
I am sorry you have to go through all of this. Why is she doing this? Did you say soimething she didn't like or not oay your rent? maybe hold the rent till she gives you your stove backand anything else she might withhold?

No rental board. I've been report her to the city, but the city is slow and so far useless. And I've been calling tenant hotline numbers and legal hotline numbers and following their advice. I battle this situation from.the moment I get up until I go to bed. Every single day. And the problems just continue.

Yep, and the law is on my side. Also I have a legal case for breaking my lease, and if I can manage to find a place fast enough I won't even be here next month.

Places here have been condemned for that kind of shit. They are mostly rented to immigrants who can't or aren't confident to make reports.

The city (the only place to report her) is being slow as hell and not exactly helpful. I keep calling them back every day and it's not getting me anywhere.

I would make as many complaints to the city. Id get a hotplate you know the kind students sneak into a dorm room and cook like that. It is runs on propane. i had one for the four years in school I had someone make a box to hide it in view everyone thought it was al alter till I uncover it to cook with.

Not sure if you are interested in spending the money, but I recommend a sous vide!
There are lots of other brands, but I have this one, you can use it to cook and/or boil water for sure!
