Pre-Op in Life As I Know It - 2022

Had my pre-op appointment this morning. I was thinking I’d only be off for like 2 days and just use a sling for work.

NOPE!

I have to be off for an entire week! He told me straight up that I’m going to be having a LOT of pain, because they have to drill into the bone. I’ll be in a hard cast from my wrist to almost my shoulder and have to keep it propped up on pillows at a 90 degree angle for that week. They are going to give me a sling to use for short periods of time, but he said I have to mostly keep it propped up on the pillows.

I’ll get the stitches out the 18th, and can go back to work after that.

Im supposed to START this job TODAY!!! I just called the woman who hired me to see if she even wants me to come in today and start since now I’m going to have to be off an entire week now. She had just walked in the door and said she’d call me back. So I guess we’ll see what happens.

Honestly I’m thinking maybe I’m just not supposed to do this job as a fill in. Because if I don’t start until the 19th, I’ll have to quit by November 6 in order to start the new FULL TIME job with Angi on the 7th. So I’m really not sure what I should do about it. I know I’d enjoy that job, but I think maybe I should just tell them thanks but no thanks right now.
