heat warning in effect

A heat wave will impact British Columbia this week.

Threat: Daytime high temperatures 31 to 35 degrees Celsius inland and 25 to 29 degrees Celsius near the water. Early morning low temperatures 15 to 18 degrees Celsius.

When: Today to Saturday.

Locations: Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, Whistler, Sunshine Coast, Southern Gulf Islands, East Vancouver Island and Inland Vancouver Island.

Remarks: A strong ridge of high pressure will bring a heat wave to British Columbia this week. The peak daytime high temperatures are expected from Wednesday to Friday. Then, a slow cooling trend is likely this weekend.

The hottest time of the day will be late afternoon to early evening. The coolest time of the day will be near sunrise.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

To get more information: - Check the local news for health and safety updates. - Check HealthLinkBC online resources about heat-related illness and how to protect yourself at www.healthlinkbc.ca/healthlinkbc-files/heat-related-illness. - Call HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1 to ask about heat-related illness.

Environment Canada and local Medical Health Officers expect an increase in health and safety risks from heat and are advising the public to take precautions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

So I was right it’s always near my birthday without fail. Well at ;east it never rains or snows or is spring like weather which I wish it was, so whatever we do we will be using the oven very little and trying to use my grill that I got. But Friday we will be ordering in so that will be good.
I haven’t heard too much about the fires that are here in B.C. so I am guessing they are under control and no one got hurt or killed so that is a good thing. I do know some people had to be evacuated but not too many like last year when a whole city or town had to leave.
Did you ever read about a city called Lytton, B.C.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lytton_wildfire
That fire was the first one I ever saw or knew that a whole town or city got burned down to the ground and they had to start over.

Anyways onto something else…

My birthday gift from my son arrived yesterday so I put it on a shelf so when he comes he can give it to me. he told me it would come yesterday and it did I was really shocked but I am happy now.
I know I will have a great day and then the next day I will be phoning Weight Watchers and going back on their program again.

Well not sure what we will do today but we are not going anywhere so it will be a nice relaxing day doing nothing much. I will be asking hubby what he wants to do for dinner and then whatever he wants I will make.
Dinner last night we had already cooked side ribs and stuffing and canned beans and it was not too bad but I didn’t like them that much where I would buy them again. I think I prefer the restaurant cooked ones much better.
So now my freezer is getting a little more emptier and then soon I will be putting more into it from the big freezer. I know we will never starve because now we have things I have forgotten about and when I find them I remember and then it’s less money I need to spend.
I call these things freezer surprises and then I think it’s like getting a gift.

Onto something else…

Well I should probably stop here…
Do Have A Great Day....
Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe and Behave.
