I go for a lot of long walks. Very long walks. And I like to wander down streets I typically don’t walk down, just to see if I stumble across anything interesting. And lots of times I do.
I noticed this sign on the door of a building and it caught me off guard. Well, at least now we know.
.
One day I came across this sign someone made that I thought was very cute. Although somebody stole Ireland.
.
One day I was downtown and desperately needed to find a bathroom. However due to COVID almost no place has any public restrooms open, even for paying customers. I was pretty sure they had some porta potties set up in Millenium Park so I ran over there and was greatly relieved to find out that yes, I COULD use a bathroom there.
Oh by the way there’s the Bean. Not what I was there for, but hey.
.
.
There are some locations along Lake Michigan where they have nature preserves, bird sanctuaries, etc. One day when I was by the lake I noticed these signs.
After I went home I Googled it. There are only about 6,000 of these birds left in the world! And they are super cute. No, I did not see one myself, but now I know what those bird watchers were so fixated on looking for.

I'm actually in Chicago, right on Lake Michigan.

Oh, I'm sorry! I figured MI or WI, but IL is the worst :( nothing against you, just that IL is kind of notorious

I love Chicago and would rather live here than anywhere else in America.

There's a video of a guy driving downtown and I swear ta Christ a bird is on his car and grabs a ride. I gotta find that one for you.

We can't close the beaches, so we mark off the nests with stakes and caution tape for birds and turtles. People still disturb the nests (some for the eggs, some curiosity, others just vandalism).
