One book? in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “The Ministry for the Future” by Kim Stanley Robinson. That’s one book read for the year so far.

We had our second eighty degree day of the year a couple of days ago.

The weather geeks are all freaking out about one of their predictions for the weather this year. They are of the opinion that this summer there will be, for the first time in recorded history, a night where the temperature won’t dip below one hundred degrees. We came close a couple of times last summer with twenty-eight nights in the low nineties.

The new scooter should be here this coming week. In the meantime I should gather up the lists of books and find something to read for when I return the last book.

I haven’t been to the swimming pool in three months. There are too many people there. I don’t feel comfortable with it. I’ll just wait until everybody leaves in another month or so. And then I’ll have the place all to myself.

I have two errands to run, but instead of Uber I’ll just wait on my new scooter.

I did get a delivery from Instacart the other day. The second one for the month of February. So far I’m really enjoying that service.

I had thought my “to-do” list was getting shorter, but then someone told me yesterday that I’ll need to file Mom’s taxes for 2020. I don’t know why. Other than if there is a refund it will be paid to the estate? Sounds like a hassle to me.

I still don’t know if I need to pay taxes. It’s been over a decade since I’ve filed a return. The benefits of being dirt poor?

I guess, if something arrives in the mail I’ll deal with it then.

I haven't filed income tax the last few years. I don't have enough income and I have nothing to be refunded. It makes me nervous somehow. Wish me luck.
