If my psychiatrist is correct, you’ll be seeing a lot more from me. in My Life

Today, I saw my counselor and my psychiatrist.

I complained about an embarrassing problem I’ve had for all of my life.

I can’t concentrate.

I go to use my phone’s calculator, but end up opening 17 other apps instead.

I read the same line of a book over and over before it sinks in.

I can’t follow a tv series.

I stare into the ether instead of getting ready for work in the morning.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was prepubescent. I was on and off and on and off my meds. Eventually, I stopped taking them altogether, because my dad figured the only ‘medicine’ I needed was a belt to the ass.

I did try to talk to a PCP I had when I was in my 20s, because I was still experiencing difficulties. She was extremely dismissive about the subject.

But, today, I was prescribed Strattera. It’s not habit-forming, has no potential for abuse, and has fewer side effects.

I start taking it tomorrow.

I hope it helps.
