Adding images to your PB easily via computer/laptop in Public Service Announcement

1 - I have never used imgur mobile app so I can’t help you there. These instructions are for imgur.com website or google or facebook website.

2 - If you add images this way, nobody will be able to track the image back to you. The URL we use is generally anonymous, even if the image is uploaded to Imgur publicly. (I have tried to use Google Image Search to find images via these URLs and I haven’t been able to.)

3 - If you have your photos on Facebook or Google Photos, skip to STEP TWO to see how to get the URL to paste into ProseBox. REMEMBER: Regardless of where you upload your photos to, the privacy settings can’t be “Private” if you want to share them anywhere else. It works for any site you upload photos to EXCEPT Instagram (they disable the Copy Image Address feature)

STEP ONE: Upload an image from your computer to Imgur

STEP TWO: Right click directly on the image, you’ll see a dropdown menu and one of the options will be “Copy Image Address” Click on that option (You can use this method on any image uploaded to any website, not just Imgur)

STEP THREE: Paste that URL into ProseBox!

Sorry the gifs are so small. I might be able to re-do them at a better resolution if it’s confusing/you can’t follow them. Just let me know.

I use Imgur, but use the "direct link" option and html code. I might need to try your way!

I think when you use the direct link, the image is traceable back to you/your account. That's the only reason I use the Copy Image Address method

Ooooooh!

IN THEORY. Of course, there are clever hackers out there that can seem to find people with the most minute details. Really it's just "harder" to find where it came from when using this method.

SOME image hosting sites save all of the image metadata, and when downloaded anyone can view that metadata - down to the latitude and longitude of where the picture was taken (so possibly your home address) so its always important to do research on where you're hosing your images to see if they save metadata info or not.

down to the latitude and longitude of where the picture was taken

I had no idea pictures even stored that kind of data.

Yeah its creepy
