Here's my current project. It's going to be a scarf, and I want to make some kind of headgear to match, either a hat or an ear band. I'm doing it freestyle (no pattern), making it up as I go. This is Tunisian crochet. Red Heart yarn in the color "Macaw."

If you're interested, this is what the Tunisian knit stitch looks like: knitting. But it's done with long hook, instead of a needle. There's also one row that I did in the Tunisian basic stitch. You can recognize it by the vertical "bars" in that row. Btw, the basic stitch looks awesome when a project is done completely in basic.

The problem I have with Tunisian is that it curls up, and that really bugs me. That's why that yellow clip is at the bottom, to weigh it down and straighten it out.

I've only tried the Tunisian thing once...and the curling drove me batty. I ended up ditching it...but I still have my hook in case I decide to try again! (It is a pretty stitch...once I finish a couple of other projects I may have to go on and give it a do over.)

The curling is the worst, but once the piece is long enough to weigh itself down, it helps. I still spend half the time "massaging" it, trying to smooth it out!

I don't have an over abundance of patience. lol But I'll give it another try anyway!

This is great!! I really like the yarn colors too. Maybe I'll try Tunisian crochet. I'm between projects. :)
