Mothering Sunday and the Pope's Ring in blackpropaganda

Apparently Mother’s Day, to use it’s commercial name, is the major selling time for the purveyors of flowers - which obviously includes the supermarkets - and no doubt there are husbands scooting around garages looking for a bouquet to take home - the dearer the better - and possibly a card as well.
SW.. has some cards in the post - and she expressed an interest in Michelle Obama’s book - which arrived yesterday from Amazon - there will be phone calls from sons - and we shall open a bottle of sparkling wine at lunchtime.
I shall also remember my own mother - long dead - whose belief in the family had a poisonous effect at times on relationships - but whose bread pudding was to die for!
At least we shall not be thinking about Brexit
And could not get away from the issue of kissing the Pope’s ring - the Fisherman’s Ring - a tradition of the faithful when giving obeisance to His Holiness. Clearly Pope Francis is unhappy with this kind of veneration and pulled his hand away when people went to kiss his ring.

In my mind, of course, was a wholly different image when I saw the headlines about those wishing to kiss the Pope’s ring!

So Happy Mothering Sunday to all mothers!!

I am probably one of the few women/mothers that hate flowers.

Please let me know what SW (or your good self), thinks of Michelle Obama's book. I have the audiobook version, (bought last Xmas), but haven't listened to it yet!
