Star Trek Discovery & Babylon 5 in General Stuff

I finally watched the season 2 premiere of Discovery. I really liked it. I like the change in show from the first season. It is becoming more Star Trek-y.
And I had the same reaction at the beginning of this episode when they once again showed the appearance of the USS Enterprise. When I heard that original music it got to me all over again. You know.....right here.
I have always liked Star Trek - every incarnation. I remember watching the original series live when it all began in 1966.

Then in the 90’s a friend started telling me I had to watch this show called Babylon 5. I dismissed him at first, but eventually started watching. It’s another show that I watched as it aired and I was amazed. It was the first program I had seen that was an entire story arc. It had some of the absolute best and most profound dialog.
A lot of people say you have to just push your way through the first season, but I found that even with less than stellar episodes, there was something in every episode that made it worth watching.

I've enjoyed most of the ST series, but Enterprise never really "worked" for me. I have mixed feeling about Discovery (recently finished Season 1, and will watch the S2 premier this weekend). I refuse to play CBS's All Access hostage game, so I only get to watch it when I'm out of the US and can stream it on Netflix.

Babylon 5 never managed to garner any interest from me, for whatever reason. I might give it another shot one of these days.

This new season of Discovery does have a different tone than the first. And, as I said, the first season of B5 can be a struggle.
