10:00 a.m. :
It is a balmy 22 degrees outside. The sun is shining gloriously and the thermostat is projected to reach the mid 40’s today. I’m hoping the residual snow on the driveway and patios will disappear in the course of the next two days. Tomorrow the high is supposed to reach 50. The weather everywhere is odd to say the least.
I had a very productive day yesterday. As I was bidding my farewells for the weekend (Yes, mine starts on Wednesday) the front desk ladies informed me of my exceptional day. And then commented on how somebody has to keep this place afloat.
I had a very disheartening day yesterday. I spoke directly with the new owner’s assistant yesterday afternoon and discovered more directly the extent of his… dare I say it?… malpractice. It breaks my heart.
After work I came home and tidied up a bit. Diana had some confusion about her follow up dr’s appointment. She ended up having the last drain removed. We’d planned on having tacos and so I started cooking the ground beef.
We were having a group from church over for what’s called a “Listening Circle” at 7:00. Time was going to be tight so she was quite pleased I started the dinner preparations before she got home. Two new people attended our event which was encouraging. The topic was “expectations”. It was a good meeting.
Notable but not worth dwelling on dept:
I came home for lunch yesterday and had to use the toilet. While sitting there I experienced something I’ve never (At least not while not under the influence of something.) experienced before. I’d even say that without the qualifier. It was a floating sensation. It might have been akin to vertigo but I can’t say I’ve ever had vertigo before so who is to say. It lasted maybe a minute.
I thought it odd.
Then, in the afternoon at work, I had another episode. It didn’t last quite as long.
I kind of like altered states and so I can find it interesting, but I also pride myself in ‘maintaining’ or keeping in control of myself.
I’m a good ‘observer’. I’m probably better at that than participating.
Today I awoke at 4:06. I turned on NPR. Diana awoke at 5:30 and started surfing the web on her phone. She informed me of the circumstances around the morning newscaster on our public radio station. She also commented on one of my stocks because I had told her that Tencent, a Chinese Facebook equivalent (Or much better), had a decent stake in Tesla and that was my surrogate to buying Tesla outright. I, with my immaculate attention to details, couldn’t recall if it was 5% or 30%. She looked it up and informed me it was just 5%. I informed her that even with a secondary purchase nearly twice of what I’d paid for the first batch that I was up 75%.
I like having her express an interest in what I’m doing with my/our resources.
I wasn’t going to be able to go back to sleep so I made coffee, took out the trash, and then took my car in to get serviced. They open at 6:30 and so I made it right on time.
Now I need to go get a haircut.
