i don’t ever actually boil tea. it never lasts long enough for me to need it piping hot; just microwaving the water for two minutes and dropping the bag in is enough to get me through a cup sufficiently scalded. i eyeball the water and the milk, if we’re being honest; if there are exact proportions to which i’m supposed to be adhering, i never learned them and certainly won’t at this advanced stage of faunal experimentation. sometimes i get it wrong and the milk curdles and i have to rush it down while the heat can handle the dairy. i like to add a spoonful of honey. too, to offset the bitterness and soothe my tired throat. that last touch i learned from you.
