whores/madonnas in keeping it postive

Still in this day and age, some men only see women in two categories - the ones you marry and the ones you “mess around” with.
Some men can’t think of sullying their wives with their low desires, so they cheat. Often they cheat in such a way as to be caught - some politicians come to mind.
I just finished reading a book, set in Apartheid South Africa, wherein a policeman - who KNOWS the laws - cannot control his sexual desire for a young woman who is black. He is married, his family is prominent in the town. He not only ruins his life, but that of his family.
I am assuming the laws are different (this one had been on the books since 1927), and cheating is just cheating - not ruining the lives of so many people.
