5 minutes in Poetry

It's only been, like, 5 minutes

But it feels like 5 years

Since I've said hello

Since the last time I got to hear your voice

Since you've been in my lap

Since I've heard those noises you make when you sleep

Since the last time I felt Like I could breathe

And that's the way it always was with us,

Time together lasted milliseconds

And time a part dragged on and on, like I was caught in a lecture by the the most boring professor

And I always tried so hard to get back to you whenever I was gone...

So now I don't know where I'm going, with nothing to come back to

Your dark rain clouds protect you from the Sun,

So stay there, and feel safe, and not scared, I get it

Because that's what I used to do before I met you

And feel like it will all be okay.

Just know, don't forget, that you tried.

And you should feel proud
