Hurting Heart in Just in Case

One of my kids was removed from her home this afternoon. We had no warning. Apparently she shared something in her book club that raised a red flag. She’s been seeing a counselor at school, and they called them in. She was supposed to stay in my group for tutoring and she didn’t. I called the office to check and they said she was checking out. Then, a few minutes later, the secretary came up and told me. I had my tutoring group in the room and had to not cry, but my heart was crushed. I didn’t even get to tell her good-bye. :(
