Damn, man in Poetry

Breathe in,
Breathe out
She’s there, she’s looking at you
She smiles, you melt
What’s she thinking behind those bright eyes of hers?
It’s taken months, starts and stops
Climbing steps, building trust
Breaking down walls, building up support
But now it’s just you and her
Yourselves to see
No screens, no angles, no shadows
Your stomach flips
You pull her close and breathe her in
Her hands on your shoulder
And now your lips are on hers
And everything else just falls away
Finally, home
A calm familiarity
Mixed with unabashed passion
Nerves calm and you fall into each other
For the first time
Again, and again, and again
