Wherein I gush about this cheap moissanite pendant that I bought on Aliexpress. in The Big, Blue House, year one.

Seriously, this thing is gorgeous. With the new customer promo codes it was $33.64. It’s probably not real sterling silver, as there’s no maker’s mark “925”, and I haven’t used a diamond tester on it yet, (magnets won’t stick to it, but it could be silver plated brass or copper), but I’m fairly confident that it’s actual moissanite simply because it blows my real diamonds and cubic zirconias out of the proverbial water. The video clips don’t do it justice. Just laying on the table it has lots of bright colors.

I’m not a diamond fan per se. I prefer good opals, labradorite, spectralite, stones with colors. But I wanted a big moissanite specifically to compare it to diamonds and CZs, just for curiositie’s sake. I’ve read that moissanite is like a “disco ball” compared to diamond, and boy is that accurate. This may be the prettiest thing I’ve ever owned.
