1-Cows can tell the time! Our beloved beautiful sisters may not wear watches but if the farmer is late by just a few minutes, he or she will have a lot of angry upset bovines to explain the reason to! Changing the clocks back and forth really upsets cows, especially at milking time.
2-Cows have a good sense of humour! They love people to tell them jokes and they have a laugh with other cows and dogs and sheep etc. However, they’re like humans in the way that some are known for humour and some not. Some time ago I was walking past a field and saw a group of ladies there so I said ‘’ladies, do you know you have an uncle who has been knighted? He’s called Sir Loin!’‘. Some of them looked like they were actually laughing and others were totally un-moooved!
3-If someone is angry with you and they call you ‘’an old cow’‘, that’s mostly true as cows share 80% of their genomes with us humans!
4-Just like us, they can be besties for life with another cow or animal and will defend you to the end, equally they can hold 100% grudges against you for life too.
5-They can be vain, shy, introvert, extrovert, nice, nasty, bossy, inventive and they play hide and seek!
6-They can detect smells up to 6 miles away!
7-They have their own languages as humans do; what one of them tells another cow in England, another cow in a different country wouldn’t be able to understand the English cow.
8-In 2018, armed cops rushed to a cowshed in Aberdeenshire to intercept a tiger. After it failed to moo-ve for 45 minutes, it was discovered to be a cuddly toy!
