I now see this,
Much time has passed.
There was something here,
That did not last.

As a lonesome pine,
I sit and ponder
The story of my life.
My roles are fleeting,
And fading with time,
That of friend, mother and wife.

There were parts of my dreams,
I had hoped would last
As a forest is lush and thick.
Those very things,
May be taken away,
Losses that come right quick.

Clouds pass through moonlit skies,
Where ever do they go?
Such are hopes, wishes, happiness and dreams,
We may never know.
