'Beyond our current worst nightmares': Mental health experts warn about the likely effects of a Trump comeback in Ok,Boomer

One of my greatest fears is this happening. If trump wins in 2024. If he loses of course he will say the election was stolen. I would rather believe mental health professionals views than that of Facebook idiots. The threat to Democracy in the USA is very real. I fear that the USA may have only 3 more years left as a real Democracy. The world needs to pay more attention to this. Canada will possibly have a failed state on their border.

Good article. Freaky

I refuse to buy into this fear that so many are spreading. I hope every day he dies just to end all this constant speculation about what he will do next. Jail is where he should be before 2023.

I think it best people not laugh about it even though I do find him laughable. This post was hidden from public view either by a mod or the site owner. I think he is just in it for money. I too hope he goes to jail but I think the Biden folks fear it would make more violence. Garland needs to step up. To say I "fear" is not exactly the right word. Mild anxious awareness perhaps. I used to blow off the comparisons to Hitlers' fascism but now... hmmm. History is fascinating to me.

I strongly hope that Trump is not the Republican nominee in 2020. Everything Biden is doing is horrific for our country. But no matter, if Trump is the alternative, Democrats will vote to re-elect Biden anyway.

Thanks for your comment, Cathy, even if we are very different. I find it all fascinating as history and never having seen anything so (cannot find the right word now for it).... in all my 66 years. I have always been leaning left but never felt fear of any US politician - what they could do. Good health and peace to you and your family.

Well, thank you. It's good to be able to disagree without being disagreeable. There may even be things we agree on.

I am 62, and I consider myself an independent and a constitutionalist. I am currently registered as a Libertarian.

When it comes to fear of what a President--or other powerful person can do--I agree that it's good not to be too fearful. But I'm very concerned about the direction our country is headed. In the last 5 years, I have been less concerned about the President than about the people.

Oh you are just a kid of 62 (66 here). I want the USA to continue and not become a failed fascist state with nukes that the Canadians may feel they need to put a wall up and make us pay for ;-) No leader should ever become the subject of a religion. We saw it in the past. We see it in North Korea. The people that are so rabidly pro trump and throwing badly spelled word salads about have probably NOT read the Constitution in it's entirety. The framers of it were flawed but they had some good ideas. In my selfish way hey let the country go to shit just let me have my social security! (Joking but it is a big fear). Thanks again, Cathy.
