Sunday Dish Dinner... in A Day in the Life

I copied this recipe out of one of my mother’s notebooks of recipes.

2 pounds lean stewing beef
1 can Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can Campbell’s Cream of Celery Soup
1 can Campbell’s Cream of Onion Soup (NOT French Onion Soup)

Place meat in crockpot. Pour the soups over top of the meat. Cook on LOW setting for 8 hours. Only stir 2 or 3 times during the cooking process. When gravy is brown and meat is tender, serve over mashed potatoes, slices of bread, homefries, egg noodles or frenchfries.

Please note : This recipe may also be cooked in a 225 degree F. oven in a dutch oven with a tight fitting lid. Bake in oven for 6 hours.

Final Note : Absolutely delicious! :)

Sounds good…. One of my real issues with recipe books is that they invariably involve, well…cooking. I like recipes where you assemble/reheat.

I am not really big on cooking, myself these days. I live by myself, and do not feel that it is worth it to have to go through the preparation, cooking and clean-up process. I usually pop something frozen or a baking potato into my microwave.
