The chickens are half feathered out again. They spent their first day outside. It was in the mid to high 80s. When i got off work at 5 it was 85 out haha. Although it was plenty windy to help cool. The husband and one of the boychildren got the coop finished. The kids brought the babies outside and now they are ready to come inside. Weeniedog is not interested thank you lordy lol! They are thus far safe.
I took a couple photos of some wee babies. I know i havent spent as much time with these two litters since they were born. Its been an extremely hard week for me work and emotionally. I have been feeling terribly run down and exhausted.
This is the rew x chestnut litter ( minus the rew in with the foster mother) Everyone is nice and fat and happy. :)

This fawn has some smut on it. Some darker shading that isnt desirable as far as color. But it dosent bother me any.

Ive also been working on spinning in the evenings. I have a lb or two of this mill processed mohair. I know its for the trade. but i wish i could keep this entire bat lol! I mean its a 50/50 split so i suppose i can keep 50% of anything i want. But i dont want to be rude either. I had to take a break from processing wool and spin something brainless. The plus side is that i can spin this extremely easy and fine. So here is a snapshot of that :)

As opposed to the wool im processing for her into textured yarns.

Lets see, This is tuurdy. Or Wilbur. But i call him turdy haha. B bought him with one of his first paychecks. Hes excited. Seeing i didnt want a turtle for a long time. I still dont really want it but i told him if he is going to take care of it himself. Then its his.
alt text

Turdy is obsessed with chasing cats. I had to pen him to keep him from chasing the kittens.

and a close up of his face. He is an ornate wood box turtle.

ok so i mentioned how exhausted ive been. Im on day 3 of 4 of my work week. Ive been feeling like crap. I know im having a thyroid flare and its exhausting. Normally a day 3 is tiring but not this bad. I actually stooped to drinking a monster. My manager bought it for me again. Shes a total enabler lol. Im doing everything i can NOT to drink them. But i also hate feeling THIS run down. My body hurts, i feel dead tired. That sometimes even typing hurts. Last night i took a bath and went to bed at 8! Tomorrow is my “swapped” shift. Im closing ( ive been opening this week) So i dont need to be in till noon. Which means i can take something and sleep. Full disclosure i ocassional eat pot edibles to sleep. But with the possibility of this upgrade and needing a pee test at work. Even though i dont know if i would need one and it is legal in this state. I wouldent want being sent for a drug test and that occasional pot use to have them tell me no. So im not taking that, even though it helps. Instead i took two benedryl last night right before i passed out. But it didnt help. I woke up about 20 times. So that sucks. Im hoping that POSSIBLY i can sleep better tonight. Or at least sleep in a larger chunk then 30 minutes. I go back to the doctor on the third to hear the test results for the MTFHR gene and RA plus my thyroid and basic labs. We will see how im doing. Will be hearing B’s test results as well. We already know he has EDS.

Oh Good news. I had a lady message me and wants 4 of my angoras. I posted some for sale and she wanted both mama does and two of the bucks :) Im really excited for her. Shes going to make lots of beautiful babies with the pairings ive made for her. Shes going to pay for and pick up the bucks. Then pick up the girls when i wean the kits. Im going to sell the kits as well. Fingers crossed i can find homes for them all. Im hoping i can get down to 8 instead of 30 something lol. I know 4 seems like a drop in the bucket when you consider how many i have. BUT its something!! I told her im off work on Tuesday ( my only day this week ) and can meet her then, otherwise it will be closer to next week. Up to her. But yay. Even two boys going to new homes, is 2 less cups of food a day. I need to get it down you know. Especially as these babies get older and need food.

Ok im going to log off. Its 9 and im going to head to bed soon.

Oh, I want a box turtle. They can’t be purchased here. I have been looking at a Russian tortoise. That or a bearded dragon :-)

ChainedChrysalis Jinn ⋅ April 26, 2021

I think a dragon would be awesome!!

Jinn ChainedChrysalis ⋅ April 26, 2021

If I did not have cats a dragon would be my first choice but it needs to be able to be out and handled a lot to be tame. There is really no safe place in my house for that :-(

ChainedChrysalis Jinn ⋅ April 26, 2021

gotcha. Ive got to do some work with my cats. They are going to have to learn how to not attack things. One has a pretty high pray drive and the other has none. So work will be happening soon.

Jinn ChainedChrysalis ⋅ April 27, 2021

Mine are lazy by nature but a bright green reptile with fast moves might be too tempting:-)

Jinn April 27, 2021

You need help with chores ! Get some of your kids or your husband to help while you are feeling so badly . They should understand.

ChainedChrysalis Jinn ⋅ April 27, 2021

I do! They do. They do most of the feeding and watering when im at work. It makes me feel bad.

Jinn ChainedChrysalis ⋅ April 27, 2021

You shouldn’t . You are working and you do not feel good. Hugs!

Cute! I had 2 red eared sliders, Parsley & Basil, but I re-homed them to my friend's dad cause he has a big pond and they were getting too big for the aquarium we had. I got them when they were the size of a quarter, and 8 years, and 3 aquariums later, they were over 8 inches in diameter! They were cool pets!

ChainedChrysalis music & dogs & wine ⋅ April 27, 2021

Oh wow. How big! This guy is probably 8 inches across.

It's much easier to keep a non aquatic turtle for sure. I wish we could have kept ours. We talked about building a pond in our yard, but then it was a hassle and I just knew if we put in the work, a raccoon or something would kill them. So, it was better to give them away, unfortunately. They have a better life now!

ChainedChrysalis music & dogs & wine ⋅ April 28, 2021

its semi aquatic or mostly aquatic. He has a resting pad outside of the water and the rest of the tank is water.
I agree with you however. something would have eaten it. Racoons are kinda monsters.

Ours had a dock to bask as well. We would put them in the yard sometimes, they were so funny. They HATED being outside. They would walk back to the patio door and wait for us to let them back in. Funny turtles :)

ChainedChrysalis music & dogs & wine ⋅ April 28, 2021

hahaha. This guy when we set him loose on the ground. Its chasing cats, chasing rabbits, utting into things. Its funny.
